In the summer of 1993, two neighborhood buddies – Mike and Anthony – started mowing lawns to earn some cash. A next-door neighbor in the San Marino Villas subdivision was their first client.
After a few years, the pair had walked many miles pushing their 20″ mower – and had also grown their client list to almost 80% of the subdivision. San Marino Landscaping was officially a business.
Flyers went in mailboxes, friends and clients spread the word, and news of their integrity and high-quality work got around. A “no clumps” guarantee and going above and beyond the ordinary lawn service with a good-looking “double cross-cut” was a hallmark of their work.
Long hours on endless summer days and dark winter nights kept the young businessmen busy during those first years.
All of this lawn maintenance work led to landscaping jobs and brick paver installations that expanded the scope of their services. They also began dedicating time to learning about new techniques, materials, best practices, and landscape design trends.
This continuous improvement led to a confident growth path and many satisfied repeat customers.
Commercial work became a larger part of the business. A rock-solid reputation with clients and vendors secured long-term relationships that continue to this day.

Today, a fleet of trucks and dedicated employees help meet the growing demand for high-quality San Marino Outdoor Services. Residential work is limited to new landscapes and hardscapes. Commercial work includes mowing services for large properties, installation and maintenance of landscapes and hardscapes, and winter time snow plowing and deicing services.
With a year-round schedule of turf and landscape design and maintenance, tree services, and winter snow and ice control, Mike and Anthony still go “above and beyond” the ordinary with their attention to detail in the design and installation of every project – not only to ensure satisfied clients but also for the personal satisfaction of a job well done.
